POV: You’re a Business Owner in Seattle that Wants an Aesthetic Coffee Shop to Work out Of | Part Two
I loved how much you all enjoyed the first round so here we are for the second round! I’ve spent a few months refining my favorite coffee shops in Seattle that not only offer great coffee, but an aesthetic vibe because let’s face it. As creatives, we aren’t interested in working out of dark, bland places. We need vibes. We need good music. We need treats.
Happy reading and I hope this inspires you to get out of your house and be amongst the people!
Artemis
Neighborhood: Ballard
Artemis is on the newer side (I believe it opened in 2023) and it already holds a special place in my heart. It reminds me of the coffee shops I used to go to as an angsty teenager. I felt so cool and punk rock thinking no one else knew of my secret coffee shop. Well, I don’t want to keep this one a secret. I want them to stay a long long time in Ballard so I’m telling you all about it.
This little gem is on the smaller side so it’s important to get there early enough to grab a seat (by the window is my fav), but I’ve also gotten there mid day and have been able to grab a table. It almost feels like you’re in someone’s apartment and we love that for us. Also, from the outside it can be easy to miss as it doesn’t have the traditional coffee shop look, but I think that’s what makes it so cool. Again, it’s like Ballard’s little secret.
I think besides its cozy vibes and neighborhood feel though, the thing that makes Artemis special is the love it has for artists. They are always featuring local artists, holding special events and even do open mic nights the first Monday of every month. Amazing.

The Flora Bakehouse
Neighborhood: beacon hill
Flora is truly the freaking CUTEST and it’s literally a bake shop so the sweet treats are plenty. Sold. Also, the girly girl in me loves how fresh and pink it is inside. I love the white community tables you can work from while glancing at the perfectly pink backsplash in front of you all while gorgeous natural light filters through the cafe. Bless.
Also, Flora is an extension of the beloved Cafe Flora, which is so delicious and a vibe all on it’s own. A win win.

Valentina’s
neighborhood: ballard
Where do I begin? First of all, I would just like to say that while I am partial to a bright and airy coffee shop (because if you are a Seattle local, then you know light is hard to come by all year long) Valentina’s stylish, warm vibes and excellent Mexican coffee makes up for it 100%.
The fact that there is an authentic Mexican coffee shop in the heart of Ballard makes me want to stand outside with a flag telling people to come on in. The baked goods are insane (try the Dubai chocolate cheesecake - holy shit) and as someone who prefers HOT coffee (as mentioned many times in part one), their iced coffee is something I could drink all year long.
Spend a morning here and then let me know exactly what you ordered and how great it was for you!

Piedmont Cafe
Neighborhood: First hill
If I’m in a, “I need an adventure kind of work day,” I will hop on the bus and head downtown to First Hill. I will then make my way to the beautiful Piedmont Cafe. As we have established, I love some bright and airy coffee shops so if you love that too, this is the place for you!
We’re talking floor to arched ceiling windows, old timey elegance and lot’s of seating. De-light-ful. I love hunkering down here for the afternoon with a coffee, pastry and my to-do list. It’s also nice to take my time getting home and enjoying the city views. :) I always feel like I really covered some ground on days like this. So many good vibes!

Cardoon
Neighborhood: ballard
The coziest, cutest little coffee shop there ever was. Located right on Market St. in Ballard and right around the corner from the iconic Ballard Ave., it is the greatewst little stop on your way to shopping, the Ballard locks or just a good ol’ afternoon stroll.
I love its neighborhood vibes, always full of Ballard locals and as far as aesthetics go, it’s so so pretty. There’s a beautiful coffee bar, long bench seating, nordic vibes and lots of natural light. They serve Chinese and German influenced food too, which is amazing. My favorite thing about Cardoon though? It is located inside an apartment building so the staff and people who live in the building all gave gotten close and even hang out outside the shop! Community is a huge pillar of Cardoon and that makes me really happy.
