Kristen for The I Collect Wigs Series // Primary Colors Theme

There was a time when the I Collect Wig Series was just for me. I kept it close to my heart as my little way of healing through hard times or shouting happiness. At some point though, and much to my surprise, it became important for others as well. People started commenting how much they wanted to see themselves in the series, they started asking me how much a session would cost - how they could get involved.

// Three years later here we are, running through fields together, getting moody in the studio together and laughing our way through our time together. I never would have expected the series to evolve in this way, but it has and it makes me really happy. Photography is so powerful and goes beyond the photographer’s vision or intent. The way it makes others feel is a gift and sometimes I can’t believe it’s my job to provide that for people.

>> I leave you with this; Kristen’s reasons as to why she wanted to do a wig series shoot.

>> “The core that runs through all of them is because I need to self-love differently, more aggressively, and I want to put myself in an uncomfortable situation that's solely focused on myself. Especially while life is paced differently and I have real time and space to self-prioritize, I would like to be able to look at myself in a different light that really highlights the fact that my body (and myself entirely, really) has always fully shown up fully. Even when I suffer self-doubt, let my imposter syndrome get the best of me, or have shitty times, I still manage to show up for everyone and everything else, and I want to do this to show up for myself.”

Kristen for the I Collect Wig Series - an ethereal goddess in red. I suggest you wear sunglasses as to not be blinded by her beauty and her fiery red hair, mk?
